Georgina is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who holds dual qualifications in Speech Pathology and teaching. She holds Masters in Speech Pathology from Macquarie University and Bachelor of Science and Diploma in Education from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Georgina is fluent in Mandarin and English. She has also learnt Australian Sign Language (AUSLAN).
Georgina started off as a secondary school teacher in Singapore. She then went on to work for Psychological Services Branch, Ministry of Education Singapore where she acquired extensive experience in assessing and treating children with dyslexia and cognitive-learning difficulties. School-based intervention programs were designed through cross disciplinary collaborations with Educational Psychologists, Guidance Counsellors and Learning Support Teachers.
In March 2013, Georgina volunteered with Trinh Foundation, Australia http://trinhfoundation.org/ an organisation that seeks to develop Speech Pathology services in Vietnam. While she volunteered as a clinical educator there, she also saw how valuable it was to be able to provide Speech Pathology services to clients in their first language.
At present, Georgina continues to see a mixed caseload of Mandarin-speaking children and adults. Her clinical interest in the Mandarin-English bilingual population has led her to continue seeking and learning more effective ways of assessing and treating the communication needs of these individuals across their life spans.
